100 WPM Club

We have quite a few kiddos who read 100 or more words per minute today. They received a ribbon that will hang in the third grade hall with their picture on it! Way to Go!!

yummy distributive property

We had fun learning about the distributive property today.

I teach the distributive property and relate it to tornados. I show this video and talk about how a tornado picks something up, and breaks it into smaller pieces. The kids seem to get it..

Then the kiddos got to make an array with M&Ms, the use the distributive property to break it up.

THANK YOU TO THOSE WHO DONATED M&MS TO OUR CLASS :)

Keyboarding

I had the opportunity to go to a keyboarding training today. I am very passionate about students learning the proper way to type. We will be working on keyboarding technique every week.

Valentine's to Veterans

Back in February our class wrote Valentine's and decorated cards to send to Veteran's. Months later, we received this letter today. As I read it to my students I began to cry and they were a bit shocked at that.  I hope they will always remember to serve and respect those who have fought for our freedoms and country.
