April 28th - May 2nd

Reading Calendars: Due May 6th for a reward.

Book Order: This will be our last book order for the year. Students who order will receive a free Rio 2 bookmark!
Due: Tuesday, May 6th!

Here is what is happening this week:

Reading & Math: We have finished testing…woohoo!! Overall, I was pretty pleased with our testing scores – especially in math! Thank you for all of your hard work at home with your child – it definitely paid off and didn’t go unnoticed. We will continue to review but will be practicing a lot for our program as well. Enclosed is a card with your child’s NWEA testing scores. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Baggie Books: Last week was our last week for baggie books. Please continue to read with your child at home, however. If you have not returned your baggie book, please do so that you will not be charged for the cost of the book!

Pencils Needed: I don’t know why but our class LOVES to destroy pencils as quickly as possible. I buy a new box about every other week but we they seem to disappear or be destroyed just as quickly as I buy them. If you happen to see any on a great deal and would like to donate to our class we would surely appreciate it!

Thank you, and have a good week!

April 7th - 11th

Book Orders: Due Tuesday, April 15th!
We are starting to review extremely heavily, as we have nine school days until we start testing. If your student is absent, please be sure to go over all of his/her missed work. There will be quite a lot of papers that will come home – we will be doing a lot of assessments to see where the students are at and what concepts we need to review more than others.

Here is what is happening this week:
Reading: We will be working on newspapers, articles and advertisements the next couple of weeks. We have learned all of the sounds and spellings, so we will begin reviewing them.
We will be DIBELS testing this week during the first hour of school, no more reading workshops.

Math: We will review everything we have learned this year.
YPP: We have 202 green dots. Our new class goal is 210 green dots by April 15th. Each student has made an individual goal and will be rewarded if he/she reaches it each week. YPP can be done at home as well. Email me for instructions if they have been misplaced.
