Week of January 20th - 24th

Important: We have had several students bring electronics to school and it ends up being a problem (playing with it in class, borrowing it to friends, losing it, etc.). Please do not let your child bring any type of electronic to school – no iPads, tablets, phones, iPods, etc. If you have any concerns, concerning this, please let me know. Thanks!

Here is what is happening this week:
Reading: Decodables and Baggie Books.  We will also be learning about contractions and performing “contraction surgery”. Please see DIBELS letter and score, enclosed.
Spelling: High Frequency List #4 enclosed.  They are starting to get harder.
Math: We will finish Topic 8 and test this week.
YPP: We have 100 green dots. Each student has made an individual goal and will be rewarded if he/she reaches it each week. YPP can be done at home as well. Email me for instructions if they have been misplaced.
Science: We will be learning how to sort and classify items.
Social Studies: We will be learning about our community, school community and neighborhoods. We will keep learning about feelings and emotions to promote friendship and boost our self-esteem.

We will be celebrating the 100th day of school on Friday. Please see YELLOW note for details.

Thank you, and have a good week!
